The Voice’s Aret Kapetanovic – The Real Life Jessica Rabbit

Filed under: Jessica Rabbit - 30 Apr 2013  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

Viewers of the renowned music competition The Voice are in for a treat as the show glams up with its very own version of cartoon bombshell Jessica Rabbit.

Aret Kapetanovic, the daughter of 1980s singing star Pattu Boulaye, stuns the judges with her audition version of Paloma Faith’s Upside Down. However, that’s not the only thing she stuns them with. The judges get an even bigger shock when they turn their chairs around only to see a beauty queen.

The contestant completed her performance with an incredibly sexy outfit made of a black sequin dress with a thigh-high split and high-heeled black sandals. Jessie J, one of the judges on the show, compared Aret with the glamorous character in the 1988 hit film Who Framed Roger Rabbit, describing her as “Jessica Rabbit in real life”.

The Price Tag singer told her: “I genuinely think out of everyone we’ve seen so far, I think you are the prime example of exactly what the show is about. I didn’t expect to see you at all, how amazing you look, it didn’t go with what you sang”. After complimenting Aret, Jessie J added: “Can I borrow your dress?

Former beauty queen Aret said the BBC One singing show was a perfect suit for her: “It’s all about the voice, and there isn’t a case of ‘you look pretty good, maybe we could do something with you’. It just comes down to whether I’ve got the talent or not. And that’s terrifying”.

Every single one of us went ‘WOW’”, says Jessie J. Danny tried to predict what Aret would look like based on her voice, jotting down notes in his book. He wrote “skinny, brown hair, weird dress” and showed Sir Tom his prediction. After seeing her, he said: “I said skinny, brown hair, weird dress, but it wasn’t a weird dress, it was a gorgeous dress”.

Aret didn’t want to trade on the name of her famous mother, either. Patti Boulaye is a British-Nigerian singer, actress and artist who was among the leading black British entertainers in the 1970s and 1980s. In her native country, Nigeria, she is best remembered for starring in Lux commercials, and The Patti Boulaye Show.

Aret previously had her own record deal and was signed to Sony BMG in 2005. She wrote and performed several songs, including Into the Blue, which was used in the movie Silence Becomes You. The 35-year-old has also worked as a model and starred in a number of music videos and TV ads.

Rosario Dawson’s Jessica Rabbit Inspired Look

Filed under: Get the Look,Jessica Rabbit - 20 Mar 2013  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

No matter where this beautiful actress goes, she never fails to look flawless. That’s exactly what she did at the UK premiere of Danny Boyle’s new movie “Trance” in London, England, on March 19, 2013.

Rosario Dawson rocked the red carpet in a gown singed by British designer Jenny Packham. Although numerous stars gathered at the Odeon West End for the premiere, Rosario managed to steal the spotlight, pulling a Jessica Rabbit inspired look.

All right, she didn’t wear Jessica Rabbit’s signature purple gloves or a strapless dress with a sky-high slit. However, her eye-catching look made everyone instantly think of the cartoon bombshell Jessica Rabbit.

The “Sin City” star stole the show at the premiere sporing Jenny Packham’s bright red sequined gown. Everyone has seen their share of red sparkly dressed, but this one was simply incredible. It makes it quite hard for people to peel their eyes away from this gorgeous brunette.

The light-catching design flattered Rosario’s figure flawlessly. The exquisite gown hugged her perfect curves while her short sleeves draped down the back of the dress. The rounded neck was a classy touch to the whole ensemble. However, what made this look absolutely stunning was that saturated vintage red hue, combined with an opulent scaly texture. The deep crimson gown was covered in sequins and beads that dazzled with her every move.

It’s quite hard to pull off a red dress and not blend into the carpet, but Rosario didn’t have to worry about that, as it was challenging to focus on anything other than the gown, in which she looked just like a vision in red. he exquisite gown hugged her perfect curves while her short sleeves draped down the back of the dress. The rounded neck was a classy touch to the whole ensemble.

Her bronze skin and dark hair completed the look and made her look flawless against the pop of red. Regarding the makeup, her face was relatively bare, aside from the nude lipgloss. The 33-year-old finished off the glimmering outfit with a hard case clutch, a matching red statement ring and a pair of gold drop earrings.

Not only did her outfit made everyone think about Jessica Rabbit, but also about Chris de Burgh’s famous song, Lady in Red. Rosario Dawson, you were simply stunning!

Jessica Rabbit Makeover

Filed under: Get the Look - 30 Jan 2013  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

Jessica Rabbit is still a great inspiration for girls everywhere, even for renowned makeup artists who love to do makeovers. If you are into makeovers too, do not hesitate in watching the video below and see the amazing Jessica Rabbit transformation. This is actually one of the best makeovers I have seen so far, as the final look is very similar to the original cartoon character.

To achieve this Jessica Rabbit look, you will need a great concealer, because you want to conceal your eyebrows and create new, fake ones. This is because Jessica Rabbit’s brow bone is very high and dramatic. It would be great if the concealer is a few shades lighter than your skin tone. You will also need a purple eyeshadow, a black eyeliner, fake eyelashes and, naturally, a dramatic red lipstick.

For the hair, you can opt for a color spray that will wash off when taking a bath. Anyway, you can see all the products that this makeup artist used in the description box below the video.

Enjoy this great Jessica Rabbit makeover and don’t be afraid to try it yourself!

Who Framed Roger Rabbit Sequel To Be Released Without Bob Hoskins

Filed under: Jessica Rabbit News - 06 Nov 2012  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

Who Framed Roger Rabbit sequel is still going to be released, as producers announced earlier this year, but it seems that the project will have to go on without Bob Hoskins. Robert Zemeckis has already began working at the sequel, even though he will have to continue the project without the original star.

Bob Hoskins in Who Framed Roger Rabbit

Bob Hoskins has announced that he will retire from acting due to Parkinson’s disease. The actor played private detective Eddie Valiant in the original Who Framed Roger Rabbit movie.

Despite the fact that Bob Hoskins has retired from acting, the project will continue to be released. “I have a script at Disney and we’re just waiting for all the executive changes to settle down there,” Zemeckis told Showbiz411. Zemeckis has always been on board with the release of a sequel to this movie and even though the project has been there for decades, only this year the director began working at Who Framed Roger Rabbit 2. Unfortunately, the decision came now when Bob Hoskins has decided to retire from acting.

Bob Hoskins, Jessica Rabbit, Who Framed Roger Rabbit

Bob Hoskins made the public announcement on his retirement back in August 2012. The star explained his decision through the fact that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, which makes working an impossibility. Zemeckis expressed his sadness about Hoskins’ retirement, but claimed that he will still go on with his plans regarding the movie sequel. This means that the movie director will have to cast someone else in Eddie Valiant role.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit was first released in 1988. The movie is considered to be a brilliant combination of live action and animation. This movie is still very famous, having numerous fans all over the world. Who Framed Roger Rabbit introduced characters such as Jessica Rabbit, who actually changed the way animated movies were seen until that moment. Jessica Rabbit is without a doubt a memorable character, who has actually been voiced by Kathleen Turner.

Until the release of this sequel, Jessica Rabbit fans should be pleased to find out that Disney is preparing a re-release of the original Who Framed Roger Rabbit in 3D. The movie will be out in November 2013, to mark the 25th anniversary of Who Framed Roger Rabbit original movie.

Annette Edwards

At 59 years, Annette Edwards is a grandmother from the United Kingdom. However, the unusual granny has an awkward passion: Jessica Rabbit. Edwards is one of the biggest fans of the cartoon character, if you haven’t already observed this from the picture above. Not just that she was the owner of one of the biggest rabbits in the world, Amy, but she invested a fortune in plastic surgery to look exactly like Jessica Rabbit. If her investment has a good result or not, you can judge for yourself.

Annette Edwards and Amy

In 2009, Amy entered the Guinness Book of Records for being the biggest rabbit in the world. At that time, Amy was 3 years-old and she was raised by Edwards in Worcestershire, England. Unfortunately, before staring on a TV show, the bunny died suddenly, apparently from stage fright because she suffered a heart attack.

This hasn’t stopped Edwards, who is now the owner of Darius, another world breaking record rabbit at the age of one. The curiosity related to Darius is that he is insured for 1.6 million dollars and doesn’t travel without a bodyguard by his side.

Returning to Edwards and her passion for Jessica, not just for rabbits, you should know that she spend over 10,000 dollars in order to look like the cartoon character. She desired to have the curves in the right places, according to a statement offered to a journalist. She had breast implants, brow lifting, chin implants, lip augmentation, cheek implants and botox shots. In order to achieve the small waist similar to that of the original Jessica Rabbit (because we cannot name her real, right?) she ate… like a rabbit. Edwards is  on a diet of cereals and salads.

You can see Annette Edwards offering details about Darius and about her transformation in a TV show from 2010 in the video bellow.

If you are a fan of Jessica Rabbit too, you can buy costumes, books, DVDs, accessories and other merchandise related to the cartoon character online.
